I definitely can't say adequate excellent points about this particular freezer. We essentially have two of these in our house and will soon be adding one more. (Extra about that later). Right off the top although I want to tell you that when you look at the shipping charges on this model and the asking price here, you can quite possibly do a lot greater if you shop for locally. If you have a truck or larger SUV you can without difficulty carry this thing house and steer clear of delivery charges. Anyway...
We went the route of manual defrost as we have had automatic defrosting units in the past and to be pretty frank, they, the automatic defrosting units will result in a substantial rise in your electric bill. With these smaller units we have identified that total defrosting is fairly avoidable if you merely take a good and sturdy plastic scraper (like the 1 you use on your vehicle windshield in the winder) and preserve the frost build-up down every few weeks are so then the chore of absolutely emptying your unit is kept to a minimal. We have located that when ever 18 months or so is pretty sufficient.
These units are tremendously quiet and there is no situation with the motor/compressor continuously coming on. We have both of our freezers on our back porch next to an old refrigerator we preserve as a back-up and overflow unit. The reason we select to obtain and install two smaller units, rather than one particular significant chest unit, is that we located with the large chest unit we basically had as well significantly food wastage over the years. All in all these are excellent freezers and if you manage your shopping correctly, they will save you fairly a lot of funds. They are light adequate that my wife and I can move them from location to location (when empty) with no difficulty what so ever. We do not use the locking mechanism on our freezers as there is no way a raccoon can get the lid open and they are the only critter that would be interested in their contents other than our grandsons.
